Color Palette: Tools to generate the colors of your web design

How many times have we been in the situation to try and not find the right combination for our color palette?

To paint our room, choose the color of the clothes on that special night, for our website or even for the corporate image of our company.

Sometimes such a simple decision fills us with doubts and questions about not knowing which colors will be suitable.

Design trends are always changing, and they are part of when making decisions.

In the past, a black sofa might seem horrible and that transmitted negativity to a home. However, now it can be something very stylish if our house is minimalist style.

The combination of colors is a very important decision and will be part of our digital strategy in web design.

For this reason, today I want to give you the best tools to create and generate color palettes online, apart from tips and examples to combine the colors on your website.

We will also see the trends of the year 2020 to create the perfect combination that you need most.

Go for it!

When we are blocked when choosing combinations, we can use tools to generate color combinations that help us make the final decision.

They are easy-to-use tools that will make our lives much easier when trying out the combinations, they are also online and free.

Let’s see my favorites.

1. Colors

Colors are one of my tools to generate favorite colors and the one I use daily with my clients in the design of their web pages.

Once we access the tool, it is as simple as pressing the space button on our keyboard, and different combinations will appear.

In the case that one of the colors we have already chosen, we will look for the combination that fits that color.

But how do we do this?

Including the color code in one of the columns and pressing on the padlock to lock it and do not jump to another when we press on the space bar.

In this way, you will give us combinations of this color that we have assigned.

TIP: We can lock with the padlock all the colors we want until we reach our favorite combination.

2. Color Wheel of Adobe Color CC

The Adobe wheel is characterized by being able to use rules when selecting colors.

That is, to select our palette we must indicate what type of colors the tool will use.

And when I talk about types of colors I mean …

Analog colors

Similar colors are neighboring colors in the color wheel, that is, they are glued together.

Monochrome colors

Monochromatic colors are different shades that make up a color, so they derive from a base tone.

Triad of colors

The triad of colors is combinations of colors that form a triangle in the color wheel.

In the image of the tool, you can see how the combinations form a triangle, this is because it is a triad of colors.

Complementary colors

Complementary colors are combinations of colors that are opposite to each other.

Composite colors

Composite colors are those formed by the union of other main colors.

For example, orange is composed of the color red and yellow.

Colors of the same tones

The Adobe wheel selects colors very similar to each other, which form a very linear and similar combination.

Custom colors

This option is for us to select colors freely one by one, without the need for them to be a complementary color, or compounds, among other mixtures.

If you have already created an Adobe account, you can save your palettes and even share them.

3. Paletton

Paletton is a tool with a very useful function in choosing colors for your website.

It’s about choosing a color scheme and it automatically creates an example website with the chosen colors so you can see how they combine online for your projects.

Also, it gives us the option to try this combination of colors in light or white pages, and in pages of black and dark backgrounds, a great advantage depending on the style you have in mind for your design.

If we have the color scheme selected, we can go to this tool and see how they will look on this web example, and decide if we should change anything before starting to structure the web page.

4. Color Hex Palettes

Color Hex is not a tool to create a combination of colors, but a page where they show you almost 50,000 different types of hex color palette.

If in the search engine we put the name of the color in English, for example, network, you will have all the color combinations with the color red.

But also, we can look for it through its RGB color code, CMYK, etc. Well, one of the advantages of this tool is that, once we have located the final color, it gives us all its information such as its HSL, HSV, RGB color codes … or complementary colors.

With these specifications, I will have the color in the different formats whatever.

The pink color of my blog is composed of a value of 255 (53.22%) of the color red, 99 (20.67%) of green and 125 (26.10%) of blue.

In addition to teaching us to read color, it gives us tricks to use it in CSS3 and create designs on our website with boxes, shadows, etc.

As you can see, Color Hex gives us a lot of information. It is a very complete tool.
